|| NECROVERTEX: PHASES OF COMPLETION TREATISE:||  *compressed ver.|

::STAMP ORNAMENTATION PHASES::

{5 to 8 individual stamps are typically used in ornamental band arrangements}

-Leather is dampened by rubbing a water soaked sponge evenly across surface.

additional wetting of leather may be required to maintain cohesive depth of hammered stamp shapes

  • 1 shape is stamped either at the middle point or both edges of the strip.

  • The stamp shape is then repeated on the opposing side. These mirrored shapes form either a “spinal column” or has symmetrical borders that further stamping derives from.

  • This is repeated down the strip starting from one end point to the other until the ornamental band is completed

  • I am passionate about creating new bands of stamping on each leather strip I create. Stamped series released by NecroVertex, in my opinion, are perfectly assimilated stamp shapes. The leather strip width plays a major role in deciding shapes, and aesthetic outcome *::ALL SERIES ARE LIMITED AND DEPLETED ONCE ALLOTTED HIDES ARE EXHAUSTED ::

  • Leather band is inspected for cohesive stamping depth and rectified accordingly.

  • Leather is lightly worked and flexed to aid crack prevention that potentially arrises after dying/coloring phases. This also helps the piece’s overall durability and comfort.

  • Edges are bevel for style and structural comfort.

  • Edge frays are singed off and leather is allotted dry time for at least 6hrs.

::PHASES OF CARVING & CUTTING ::

-Based on design size and desired structural width, an adequate area of leather is cleaned and cut  from main hide.

-Leather is lightly dampened

 *note. Cut and Carved designs are first drawn onto Graph paper and then transferred by hand  onto a film sheet of Duralar.

-Duralar sheet is positioned and secure.

-Image is traced onto leather and becomes an imprinted outline for carving.

-Again, Leather is dampened by rubbing a water soaked sponge evenly across surface.

*Additional wetting of leather may be required to maintain cohesive line depth and width.*

-Upon desired water saturation, the design is carved using a hotrod Swivel knife.

-Lines are reviewed for cohesion and the newly carved piece is allotted 6hrs of dry time before next phase.

::LINE BEVELING & DESIGN CUT::

-Leather is dampened using a water soaked sponge.

-Bevel carved lines when saturation reaches perfection.

-The cross-hatch beveling tool is, “walked”,rapidly hammered down carved  lines.

-Beveled lines are reviewed for depth cohesiveness and fixed accordingly.

-Using a particular blade the finalized carved design is carefully cut-out from the leather piece.

-Edges are lightly singed for fraying and sharp points “tipped” to prevent future  wear.

-Cut-out is left to dry before phases of dying/staining.

::PHASES OF DYING AND FINISHING::

 *It cant be erased or flushed out. Once stained, Always stained. Leather, like bone, has a similar reaction to that of a sponge when liquid is introduced to its structure.

-Leather is lightly buffed and/or dampened before dye/stain application.

-The base color Dye is applied and allotted 6 - 12 or 24hrs to saturate, take, and dry after every application.

*additional coat might be added based on leather quality and thickness*

-A light surface buffing between each dye/stain application is mandatory to clean excess dye which dries to a powder on the surface.

:LEATHER BUFFING IS DONE BY HAND. BUFFING MACHINES AND WHEELS SIMPLY CANNOT FEEL POLISHED PERFECTION.::

-Dye for antiquing is then applied and wiped off.

*or not depending on certain desired looks*

-Leather is then lightly buffed for gentle expulsion of excess antiquing.

*I mix my own antiquing substances and that is top tier secret shit.

-Leather is allotted dry time of 6 - 12hrs before topcoat application

::TOPCOAT FINISH & UNDERSIDE SLICKING::

-Leather is lightly buffed and Super Shene topcoat is carefully, quickly, and evenly  distributed onto surface.

 *Depending on the quality of dye layering and topcoat application, this is the most  stressful and difficult phase in my opinion, apart from buffing. It can make or break  the final rendering and layers could crack and peel if not done correctly.*

-24hrs is given for topcoat to saturate surface, take, dry, and cure.

-Very lightly, buff leather top surface after drying.

-Backside of leather piece is checked for grain direction and frays are singed off.

-A mixture is firmly wiped down the grain underside and following edges.

-This phase is called  “Slicking”.

 *Sealing the leather underside and edges, also creates sleeker feel to user.*

-Edges of leather piece are also “Slicked”.

-Strip ends are cut, dyed, and “Slicked”.

-Underside is wiped and tested for dye residue.

 *Ensures that leather does not moisten and stain on user skin|clothing.*

[NECROVERTEX is burned by hand onto every N.V. creation.]

-Leather rests for 24hrs.

-After a light buff and polish on both leather sides, The creation is ready for hardware phases or inspected and approved for Completion.

::HARDWARE::

  • Copper & Brass pieces may be torched to oxidization, by NecroVertex, and adds a “rainbow swirl” or “golden” look to certain metal hardware.

  • Hardware is mapped and marked at designated points on the leather.

  • Determined by hardware radius, a hole is punched for hardware fitting.

  • Hardware screws that adjust are treated with thread-locker while  nonadjustable hardware is threaded with liquid steel.

*Button Stud holes are finished with a torch and dampen technique (assists portal from usage wear). Super Shene Finish is also applied to these ports if necessary.*

::BONE RITES ::

ALL BONES ARE REAL. ALL BONES WERE PERSONALLY OBTAINED OR FOUND ON PRIVATE LAND .

  • Bones are brushed and washed with water to expel as much debris, dirt, or remaining tissue as possible.

  • Bones are completely submerged in hydrogen peroxide for no less than 24hrs.

  • Bones are laid out on concrete until completely dry

  • Bones are soaked and stirred in lukewarm water to extrapolate remaining peroxide residue within the bone’s inner layer

  • Well water bath in Moonlight, your welcome.

  • Finally bones are laid out until completely dry 24-48hrs.

  • When completely dried, bones are lightly sanded to ensure exterior debris/tissue has been removed.

  • Bones Are thouroughly wiped clean

  • Bones are ready to achieve Dye/Paint phases.

  • Finally, Bones are give 2+ coats of Crystal Clear Enamel or Lacquer.

  • Once protective finishes have cured the bone is inspected for topcoat sealing.

  • *Finishes help in strengthening structural integrity from deterioration and  maintaining bone sanitation.*

::FINAL PHASE::

Creation is tested for quality. If passed, It will be lightly wiped down and then I get to admire it in the sun before storage.

Finally complete, User and Spirit bond together and worn NecroVertex/Creation are one. Your SOVs _
